American Wild Ensemble celebrates American people, places, and stories through the commission and performance of new music.

Emlyn is the co-founder and co-director of American Wild Ensemble, which began touring in 2016 as a celebration of the National Park Service centennial. Known best for its outdoor performances, the ensemble has played concerts everywhere from ancient forests and tranquil lakeshores to lava fields and caves deep underground. The ethos of American Wild Ensemble is all about community, connection, and collaboration. Each project revolves around a central theme or place, with composers, performance venues, and community partners all coming together to reflect on and amplify that core concept.

In August 2021 American Wild Ensemble honored the bicentennial of Missouri statehood with a live and virtual tour featuring new music by Missouri composers. Additional upcoming projects are inspired by the Great Lakes region and the 200th birthday celebration of Frederick Law Olmsted.

American Wild Ensemble is available for performances, education events, and lectures on project design.
