tuo duo is flutist Emlyn Johnson and cellist Daniel Ketter.

tuo duo is dedicated to the development and performance of repertoire written for flute and cello. This duo instrumentation, a natural pairing since the era of Baroque sonatas, has been relatively little explored in a more contemporary context since Heitor Villa-Lobos’s 1950 seminal work, The Jet Whistle. tuo duo performs music across a variety of eras and styles but is particularly committed to the commission of new flute and cello duo works. To date, the ensemble has commissioned several works for concertizing and youth programming, including music by Aaron Travers, Daniel Pesca, David Clay Mettens, and Kim Osberg.

A performance of Daniel Pesca’s Pezzettino, based on the children’s book of the same name by Leo Lionni, was released online in September 2021 by The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art.
